Netbook Information
Everything you need to know about netbooks
Netbook computers came into the market in 2007 as a very low end computer. People were becoming more mobile as high tech phones started coming out and computers were getting more and more advanced. The netbook was a response to this, showing in the netbook vs notebook debate, that power isn't everything.
When they were first released, the notebook pcs were very simplistic. They didn't have cd drives, and were really just Internet devices. But today, things have changed quite a bit. Now, they're often described as smaller, cheaper notebooks, very fitting considering their small size and low costs. Netbooks often aren't seen as a replacement for laptops, but instead, target the more mobile audience as notebooks and laptops have taken the role of the new home computer.
To give a general feel for netbooks, the screens are on average, 10 inches large, and the computers typically weight around 3 pounds. With a typical gigabyte of memory and 160 gigabyte hard disk, the computers are smaller than standard notebooks, but at an average price of 300$, are also much cheaper.
